Description

ConversationInvitation v02 090616 GM

As you know, the Ontario government will begin consultations this fall on an updated Long-Term Energy Plan (LTEP), expected to be released in 2017.

On September 15th, 2016, the OEA’s LTEP Working Group will be releasing a draft discussion document to the membership for feedback.  The document will outline some background, issues and proposed policy positions for the OEA to take during the fall consultations.  The provincial government is currently active in policy development in the areas of climate change, cap and trade and energy planning.  The upcoming LTEP consultation presents a critical opportunity for the OEA to work with the province in developing a long-term plan that brings together these policy areas in a workable, pragmatic plan to provide reliable and affordable energy to Ontarians in a manner that also meets sustainability and climate change objectives.

At the Conversations That Matter event, a panel will walk members through the OEA draft discussion document and suggested policy positions.  The OEA will then use the document to solicit feedback from the membership, and use that feedback to refine the OEA’s policy positions for the fall LTEP consultations.
