Donald Dewees
Professor of Economics and Professor of Law, University of Toronto
Donald Dewees is the author of the 2010 C.D. Howe report, The Price Isn't Right: The Need for Reform in Consumer Electricity Pricing. Dewees has advised governments on environmental and electricity policy.His teaching, research and publications have focused on environmental law and economics, industrial organization and electricity restructuring.In 1998, he served as Vice-Chair of the Ontario Market Design Committee, which advised the government on the introduction of competition into the electricity market in Ontario. He has also served as Director of Research for the Ontario Royal Commission on Asbestos, as Vice-Dean and Acting Dean of the University of Toronto Faculty of Arts and Science, and as Interim Chair of Economics. Dewees holds an engineering degree from Swarthmore College, as well as an LLB and a PhD in Economics, both from Harvard.
